Dear Reader,
I’m about to embark on a translation of “The Siege of Jerusalem”, a relatively obscure, anonymous poem in Middle English. Given my other professional responsibilities, it should take around two years to complete. A.E. Housman refused to accept any payment for his literary work. He decided (a) that his academic salary was more than sufficient for his needs, and (b) that to accept money for literary work was just a little vulgar. Unfortunately, I don’t have this luxury. I’m therefore soliciting your support via Patreon. All patrons will have their names listed in a special dedication page, grouped according to their financial commitment. Furthermore, patrons will receive regular samples of the work-in-progress. Please forward this link broadly. I’d be most gratified if Patreon could become a viable, long-term means of supporting my work. I thank you for your patronage. Ever yours, Jeffrey Burghauser |
Your support will enable Prof. Burghauser to continue his fight (via books, lectures, and advocacy) to promote real education in a world that desperately needs it.
